“2 Legit 2 Quit” might be a fitting theme song for this post containing news of a former spyware employee who decided to get out of the game and ex-adware maker Claria’s efforts to prove to the world that they’re on the straight and narrow.

Jimmy Daniels is a self-described “affiliate, wannabe writer and merchant”. After receiving some flack over comments made on in this post on the RealTechNews blog about 180 Solutions, Daniels decided to do what any good blogger would do: invite the guy for an interview.
Here’s an excerpt, in which the employee (who opted to remain nameless) talks about his decision to join the company and the immediate aftermath:
“It’s true that I didn’t _really_ know what the company did when I went there, but I know enough to know that it wouldn’t be a retirement gig unless it went public or started making me rich with pre-ipo stock. I even told my friends that before I left my last company… two – three year gig, no more. I was definitely the subject of mockery as a smut peddler (they were just joking of course, no one was serious), when I left. When I told them I was leaving I received many ‘haha’s.”
The complete interview is here.
Also continuing to make headlines is Claria, who recently announced plans to put its adware products on the block. Today they’re announcing the beta release of PersonalWeb, a product which sounds suspiciously like its adware and spyware cousins, but hey – who are we to judge?
