AOL boosts its video search offering with the acquisition of Truveo, a small technology start-up based out in Burlingame, California.
Although formally announced this week, the deal actually went down lat last year. Financial terms have not been disclosed.
This deal is a big one for AOL and is line with the company’s recent strategy of promoting free content as a way to build back the audience share it’s bleeding from paid subscriptions.
