Late yesterday Google rolled out a version of Gmail for mobile phones.

Gmail Mobile is the Lilliputian version of the search engine’s email service developed specifically for cell phones and mobile devices.

A few of the features described on the What is Gmail Mobile? page:

  • An interface that scales to fit the size of the screen that you’re using
  • The ability to view attachments, including photos, PDFs and MS Word docs
  • Automatically synchronization with your regular Gmail inbox
  • Respond by email or call once phone numbers are entered into your Gmail Contacts list
