Sorry to keep going on the tabloid/tech thread we started yesterday with the story of the Japanese girl who kept a blog about poisoning her mother but we don’t write the stories, we just report ‘em.
A recent story out of California says a teenager suffering from mental problems killed two neighbors and shot two others before turning the gun on himself. What makes this even stranger is that prior to the act, the gunman posted in the community section of the web site SomethingAwful.com, where he asked forum members where to buy ammunition (sadly, they told him).
An “online funeral” was held for a young girl nicknamed “Snowly” who died after playing the popular online game World of Warcraft for several days straight without breaks. Joi Ito says this isn’t uncommon – “I often see players playing until they pass out…I’ve passed out a few times as well.” We’ll take your word for it, but we’re sticking with something more low intensity. Checkers, anyone?
