Google Maps Has Gone to the Birds

You knew it wasn’t going to be long before someone created a Google Earth/Google Maps mashup charting the spread of the avian flu outbreak.

The bird flu tracker was created by Texan Lynda LeCompte and is regularly updated with icons signifying confirmed and unconfirmed cases as well as whether the outbreaks are human, bird or some other animal.

Download the application here and see how long you have before it’s no longer safe to scarf popcorn chicken at KFC (though some would ask ‘was it ever?’).
