City-Data.com is a web site that may interest marketers doing work with local search or (more generally) anyone looking for detailed info on a particular city.
Photos, geographical data, lists of schools and public services, crime stats, census data and more can all be accessed for free on this site which also serves as a great resource for anyone looking to make a move to a new city.
There’s also a “Small Towns” section featuring information on locales with fewer than 1,000 residents.
Nothing particularly appealing or high tech about the site’s design or interface but it gets the job done and sometimes that’s all you need.
By the way, City-Data.com was recently named one of the top 5 fastest-growing educational sites.

I am a disabled Vietnam Vet and one of the few things that I could do was read comments and info on City-Data.com.It was a large part of my life as is t.v.and my dog.Once in a while I would comment using Cloudweller.Every day a group of fellow Vets who drink beer and act weird pay a visit on disabled soldiers.
I had to go to Walter Reed Hospital for my 37th operation to help me deal with injuries caused by an ambush that my Platoon and I walked into.I was hit 120 times,but survived.I was fighting for my country and to free those people and I hate guns,but received The Purple Heart.While I was rehabing in Washington D.c.MY DAILY VISITORS WERE GIVEN ALL MY SITES PASSWORDS ETC AND WHEN I RETURNED EVERYTHING ON MY COMPUTER WAS A MESS.
MY FAVORITE PASSTIME CITY_DATA IS CLOSED
AND I CAN SAY THAT ONE OF MY VISITORS CONFESSED TO WATCHING TWO GUYS USING MY CLOUDDWELLER CODE AND MANY OTHERS TO USE PROFANITY ETC AND RUIN MY REPUTATION
