Web Fads Went Bad + Google’s Most Popular Pages

You know how much we love Top 10 lists over here at SearchViews and this morning we were pleased to discover two new ones among today’s news.

The first is a list of the Top 10 Web Fads of Yesterday. MIDI files, guestbooks and page counters, oh my! As author Sean Carton says, “Just because it’s popular does it mean that it’s always a good thing? Probably not.” (link via Google Blogoscoped)

The second is by Jim Boykin and contains some interesting revelations on America’s favorite search engine. Google’s Top 10 Choices for Search Results. Did you know that your chances of seeing a site less than a year old in the top 10 results for a given phrase are roughly 1 in 1000? Yea, neither did we.
