The next time you fancy a spot of tea, why not send a text?
The folks at PG Tips (think the Brit equivalent of this in the US) have invented a new take on the tea kettle.
Just use your mobile to send it a text message and the “ReadyWhenUR!” activates a series of mechanical levers to begin boiling without you having to even get near an open flame. See it here in Stuff Magazine.
A joint partnership with mobile phone provider Orange is behind this quirky invention, which some are saying could infringe on the British tradition of tea-time.
But with a starting price of nearly $200 (compared to an average tea kettle costing around $20) most would say there’s little reason to worry.
