Nestled among the faux designer bags, abandoned tubas and Darth Vader figurines is a search engine for sale.
Jux2 is a meta search engine that’s currently up for auction on eBay and right now the bidding stands at around $2,000 bucks (shipping included free of charge). Not too shabby, considering it was listed with a start bidding of just one cent. Buyers still have 8 days left to bid and some are saying that the bidding could go as high as $20,000.
So who the heck are these guys, anyway? According to their FAQ, the primary mission of Jux2 is to expose users to the results of several different search engines using just one tool. Such search engines “differ more than you think” and you may need more than one to find your desired answer.
On a related note, you may be able to buy a search engine but you’re S.O.L. if you’ve got the bird flu. eBay just pulled the plug on all web sales of Tamiflu.
