
The NY Times shortening it’s page width by one inch may not seem like front page material, but at a cost savings of over $60,000 a day it has the guys over in Accounting leaping with joy.
Mark Freisen is a news designer at The Oregonian in Portland and he pays attention to this sort of thing. Having been in the newspaper biz for almost 20 years, he’s developed a bit of an obsession with newspaper design.
His blog, NewspaperDesigner.com is a tribute to the best (and worst) in the industry, not to mention a surprisingly fascinating read.
