A month and a half ago we told you about the Million Dollar Homepage, an online destination selling Internet ad space at the rate of one dollar per pixel.

Back then it was mostly a sea of grey with several tiny ads dotting the screen. Looking at the site today reveals an entirely different picture – 443,100 units out of a possible 556,900 have been sold – in other words, a lot of the grey has gone away.

The ads themselves are diverse and very creative visually – many of them resemble miniature works of art. One of my favorites is the tiny Elvis in Heaven (mid-way down the left side of the page) that belongs to The World’s Largest Gift Shop in (where else?) Las Vegas, Nevada.

Seems that most are relying on rather cryptic approach – using a symbol instead of a word to attract curious clicks. A red heart on a white background links to MyOldFlames.com, a site devoted to helping you find out whatever became of your ex.

After you feast your eyes on the ads, head over to the blog of the site’s 21 year-old creator and then kick yourself for not thinking of it first.
