Even though Microsoft might not get as many valentines in its construction paper-covered shoebox as say – Apple or Google, Bill Gates is still confident that his company is the best.
If his recent recruitment video with uber-geek Napoleon Dynamite isn’t proof enough, The Seattle Post Intelligencer recently ran an interview in which Gates acknowledged his rivals’ strengths but said that the Redmond-based company will eventually overcome.
Here are the highlights:
Gates on the competition: “In those areas where somebody else has done well, that’s great. We’ll match what they do, we’ll bring new things to it, do it better and integrate it in with other things.”
Gates on the US anti-trust settlement: “It’s not preventing us from being very, very innovative…”
Gates on recapturing the Windows 95 mojo: “The PC is so broad now compared to back in 1995, it’s not quite as radical. Everybody has got a PC. I don’t know if we’ll use the same kind of midnight madness type things.”
