Beijing-based blog site Bokee.com has just picked up a round of VC investment to the tune of $10 million. This comes after rumors of a $1 billion dollar IPO.
According to this article on Red Herring, most of the money will be used to build the rapidly growing site’s infrastructure. Right now Bokee boasts 2 million registered users and generates about 18 million page views per year.
Bokee makes its money by selling ads; it also gets a cut from telcom companies who sell mobile blogging services. Revenue is doubling month over month.
Chinese web properties are hot right now, what with Yahoo striking a deal with Chinese eBay equivalent Alibaba and search engine Baidu filing for an IPO.
