
No shocker here. The Author’s Guild filed a class action lawsuit yesterday in Manhattan against Google over its Google Print Library initiative.
The AG is claiming that the search engine is responsible for “massive copyright infringement” as the result of its efforts to scan and digitize literary works and make their texts searchable on Google. Google has already scanned portions of the collections of notable universities such as Harvard, Stanford, University of Michigan and Oxford.
