As mentioned here last week, SearchViews has packed up our bags and flown out to the Windy City for Ad-Tech Chicago. (Which explains the radio silence on our end all day) We’re going to be posting both here and on the Ad-Tech Blog (run by our friends at AdRants)

Without further ado, here’s some initial thoughts/comments from this morning’s intro and keynote:

  • The show is bigger: Attendance is up almost 50% from last year’s show (3,000 vs. 2,000)
  • It’s also badder (kinda): They’ve been playing metal over the PA during all the announcements. I wish I had known – Could have busted out my stylish Def Leppard jean jacket.
  • The industry is more global than ever: Nine of the top 25 sites in the world are Chinese
  • The Age of Engagement: The show will revolve around the idea of mass customization. As media continues to fracture and specialize more and more people will expect personalized communications from the companies they do business with

I’ll be here blogging the whole show, so if you happen to see someone with a SearchViews badge on walk by, be sure to stop me and say hi.
