One of the best things about Wikipedia is that it’s a ‘free-content encyclopedia that anyone can edit’. One of the worst things about it’s a ‘free-content encyclopedia that anyone can edit’. Waxy.org points to a Wikipedia page honoring The Lamest Edit Wars Ever.

A few highlights:

  • One user got the claws out to ensure a photo of their beloved Jellybean remained in the entry for “cat”.
  • Is that shiny stuff in which you wrap leftovers “aluminium” or “aluminum” and what does a government agency have to do with it?
  • We know Grace Kelly was lovely and all that, but was she a gay icon? And how did George Bush’s name get into it?

Then, of course there’s the ultimate meta – the ongoing debate over the Lamest Edit page itself.
