Google Gets Emo

Come along and experience the full range of emotions with one of America’s favorite search engines:

Google Good: Not content with having a stock price up in the stratosphere, Google’s now garnered over 52% of the US search market according to a report by WebSideStory. Google topped the 50% mark for the first time a few weeks ago. If you think that’s impressive, try taking a trip to Germany, where they’re at over 90%. Maybe it’s cause the word “Google” sounds so cool with a German accent…

Google Bad: A Norwegian hacker named DVD Jon has already cracked Google’s recently released Video Viewer with a patch that lets users play videos not hosted on Google’s servers. Google’s obviously not too pleased and released a statement to that effect. If Jon’s name sounds familiar, it’s cause he’s the same guy who opened up iTunes.

Google Sad: The Iraq War Casualties Map uses Google Maps to graphically display by hometown information on the soldiers we’ve lost in Iraq.
