The China Beijing International High-tech Expo is going on right now, with exhibits, speakers, presenters, and forums showcasing the latest digital technologies from over 2000 business in over 30 countries, including Samsung, Yahoo, and Mercedes.
More than just a geek toy showcase, the week-long conference also provides a platform for world business and political leaders to exchange their ideas on issues like economic development, energy strategy, and financial reform.
CNET has some great photos, including this shot of a 102 inch plasma TV from Samsung.
You can browse the official site of the Expo for more information, and let us know if you can figure out why there’s a picture of a guy on a surfboard (?) on the masthead.
If you’re looking for a tech event closer to home, might we suggest the WIRED NextFest, going on this June 24-26th at Chicago’s Navy Pier. Though we got a sneak peek at most of the exhibits, we can’t tell you too much at this time. Let’s just say that a bionic dolphin and a breakdancing robot will be in attendance.
