To say China’s search industry is growing quickly would be an understatement of proportions larger than the country’s population itself. The market for online services is up 81% from 2003 and the market for online search is expected to hit $680 million by 2007, according to a report released at a state-of-the-industry meeting in Xiamen City. In other international news, seems that Google Dublin may be doublin’. Threadwatch points to a story in an Irish paper that wonders whether Google is planning to expand its Dublin operation to about 500 employees, or 300 more than its previously named number of 200.
The speculation comes after Google secured additional space at its headquarters in the Gasworks on Barrow Street. Google reps are denying comment. Though Google is in a much better place than about 99.99% of companies out there, it’s good to keep in mind that having extra space doesn’t always mean you’re going to use it.
