Yahoo! Desktop Search is a heavier, more robust program than its Microsoft and Google counterparts and offers users more functionality, with the trade-off being ease of integration.

We like the find-it-as-you-type functionality and the wide range of searchable file types, but think they’re missing the boat by not auto-indexing viewed web content, one of the cooler features included in the Google version. This feature is really helpful, and really really helpful if you travel often and need to be able to refer to web content (think web-based email like Hotmail, Y! mail, etc.) while on the road.

But don’t take our word for it. Check out more user reactions here.
