New York, March 4, 2011 – Reprise Media today announced the appointment of John Anagnost to the role of President, U.S. to further seek, start, scale and share Reprise Media’s product and service offerings. Reprise Media is focused on aligning its U.S. operations with its international resources to provide a seamless global service offering to its current clients and to stimulate organic business growth. In his move from a publisher to an agency, John brings valuable insights that enhance and build upon Reprise Media’s mission to deliver customer data-informed creative communications solutions based on intent. John will report directly to Bant Breen, Worldwide CEO, Reprise Media.
Anagnost comes to Reprise Media from Bloomberg LP, where he was the Head of Audience Marketing for Bloomberg.com and Businessweek.com, two of the world’s leading business news and information websites. Previously, John was the Global Director of Search Marketing Services at Neo@Ogilvy. His deep understanding of audiences and search marketing enables Reprise Media to deliver relevant, focused messages to consumers through the use of controlled and appropriate data streams. As a result, he will work closely with data and analytics and research resources to help develop new proprietary digital tools and processes focused on understanding consumer intent.
In addition, Anagnost will further partner and compliment the service offerings of Mediabrands Ventures, UM, Initiative and the broader IPG network with Reprise Media. As part of the Mediabrands Ventures collective, Anagnost will assist in the creation of new services and enhancements to current resources within Reprise Media that will accelerate the entire network’s ability to meet new demands from our clients, vendors and partnering agencies. Mediabrands Ventures will continue to expand as a collective unit, united by a single platform, creating a first of its kind for a media holding company.
“The opportunity has never been greater for marketers to gain insights into how customers use the web and mobile to search for content and reach out to friends through social channels in support of a purchase decision” said Anagnost. “Reprise Media and the other Ventures groups represent an exciting set of capabilities that compelled me to get back into the agency side and drive client successes.”
Over the last few months, Reprise Media has realigned and focused its teams to understand, activate and optimize based upon what consumers seek, share and create online. The appointment of Anagnost is the next logical step in creating the digital agency of the future. An agency that recognizes that search is not driven on technology alone, but on the understanding and interpretation of data by a team with expertise across a wide range of categories and verticals, that provides marketing intelligence for its clients.
“John is a pioneer in the digital space with a broad background in strategic marketing and digital media,” said Bant Breen. “His depth of knowledge in search marketing makes him an incredibly valuable addition to the Reprise team.”
