Reciprocal Link

The exchange of links between two websites.

Referrer

A webpage that sends traffic to another page with a link.

Refresh

Button used to reload a web page. The refresh command can also be included as an HTML tag used to automatically redirect visitors to another page. This type of automatic redirection is considered spam, and is grounds for de-listing

Relevancy

How well a document matches a searcher’s intent or provides the information they were looking for.

Return on Investment (ROI)

A metric used to judge the profitability of a campaign by comparing the amount spent on a campaign to the revenue generated by those efforts.

Formula = ((revenue generated – campaign spend) /campaign spend)

* Campaign spend may refer to media costs alone, or may also include associated technology costs. Revenue may refer to either gross or net, depending on the exercise

Revenue

  1. Client - The total amount of money spent on a client’s site by visitors. Revenue can be viewed per customer, per keyword, per search engine or on an aggregate level

  2. Agency - The amount of money (or commission) paid to Reprise Media by a client. While there are a number of different ways in which Reprise Media earns revenue, it is most often generated in one of two ways: a) a % of the purchase price of each click, or, b) as a flat monthly campaign management fee.

Revenue Per Lead

The average amount of revenue generated by each lead generated during the campaign.

Formula = (total revenue / # of leads)

RSS (Really Simple Syndication)

Digital content syndicated to a specified source (the RSS reader) as a convenient way to collect information quickly from multiple sources. Any digital content – text, images, audio, video – can be streamed through RSS. RSS is most commonly used as a way to gather regularly updated content, such as blog posts, podcasts, or news headlines.

RSS Aggregation

The collection of RSS feeds.

RSS Reader

Information management program that gathers and translates RSS feeds.

RSS Subscription

To sign up for a specific RSS feed and have feed updates sent regularly to an email address, or RSS reader.
