Header
The top region of a website that contains the page title and URL.
Heading
An HTML tag that assigns greater weight to a set of keywords by enclosing them in specific tags. Eg: <h1>, <h2>, <h3>, and so on to <h6>, to indicate keywords of greatest importance to least importance. The excessive use of headers to increase keywords strength for search optimization can be grounds for de-listing.
Hidden Text
Text that is visible only to search engines, usually for the purpose of artificially inflating keyword density. Keyword spamming through hidden text is grounds for de-listing from a search engine.
Hit
A single file request from a web server.
Home Page
The main point of entry for a website.
HTML
Hypertext Markup Language: the publishing language of the Internet– a Coding language used to create hypertext documents for the web.
HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol)
The protocol that enables digital file transmission over the Internet.
Hypertext
Text that is cross-linked to other documents.
