General Reprise Media FAQs

What’s the difference between Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization?

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is the practice of marketing and advertising through paid listings in search engine results, while Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of manipulating a website’s code and structure to improve its ranking among organic search engine results.

Search Engine Marketing is an effective means of generating immediate results for short-term campaigns. SEM management is similar to traditional advertising, in that placement is primarily determined by the amount bid for a given spot. Search Engine Optimization, on the other hand, is an effective means of generating long-term benefits by optimizing a website for organic search results. SEO is less measurable than SEM because the website re-structuring process typically takes three to six months to show an effect. The long-term results of SEO, however, generate continual benefits for the website owner, while SEM benefits end when the campaign is completed. Thus, SEM and SEO are usually applied in combination, to generate both short-term and long-term benefits. SEM and SEO practices support each other, to maximize the return on investment of online marketing.

We provide a comprehensive suite of search engine marketing and search engine optimization services including paid search advertising, paid inclusion, landing page optimization, copywriting, usability testing, research and analytics.

Reprise Media began three years ago to address inefficiencies in the Search Market. Our technology platform and service offering are built on predictability, transparency, and standardization, all in a way that speaks to marketers and delivers ROI-driven results. That means we focus on all stages of the search engine marketing process to create a comprehensive, customized approach.

What makes Reprise Media different from other firms?

We take a boutique approach to Search Marketing, focusing all internal resources on our core mission. Unlike other agencies, we combine technology and human expertise to leverage our extensive understanding of how marketers can best use Search as a platform for growing their business. We look at SEM as a function of different elements of a campaign, meaning an equal focus on Needs Analysis, Keyword Identification and Organization, Campaign Architecture, Bid Management, Creative Development, and the Reporting and Analytics side. Our PROsuite technology is designed to deliver insight on each lever as it affects the entire campaign. Furthermore, we maintain a 1:1 clients to staff ratio to ensure a superior level of service. Because of our “multi-lever” approach to campaign management, we can provide the transparency and proactive analysis that our clients are looking for.

The 2006 Forrester WAVE report recently called us “search marketing’s biggest break out star,” because of our innovative PROSuite technology and quality assurance capabilities. From the Forrester report,

“Reprise Media is innovative, profitable, and strategically focused, making it the biggest competitive threat and the best kept secret in our study.”

Does Reprise Media specialize in any specific industries?

Although we have a broad range of clients, our technology is particularly well implemented in six specific industries:

Publishing:

FeedCast automates the process of building and implementing search engine marketing programs for breaking content. FeedCast is the first product that addresses the greatest need of content providers by dramatically reducing a campaign's time to market. What once required several days can now be done in a matter of hours.

Public Relations:

Our Rapid Response product allows PR firms to respond quickly to reputation crises or news opportunities through paid search presence.

Branding:

Share of Voice reports measure presence in search results and contextual for our branding/awareness clients vs. their competitors

Local:

Our Local Targeting Library is an extensive keyword methodology and custom taxonomy that can be used to quickly restructure a campaign to track performance not nationally, but across various geographical sub-sects. For example, instead of running one singular, national campaign, we’d set a client account up across 6 broad geographical regions that still add up to the full 50 states. Since we’re assigning different tracking IDs for each DMA region, we can track metrics per region and learn about geographical performance (based on climate, fashions, brand equity, etc.).

Retail:

Our Site Spider Tool is able to crawl deep into our clients' dynamic sites or content management solution and extract relevant product information, landing pages and attributes, allowing those clients to more easily utilize the paid inclusion programs at many leading shopping search engines.

Agency:

The Agency Partnership Tool helps agencies quickly generate custom proposals and move campaigns to market.
